Volunteers are needed to help residents in Affordable Living with cleaning living spaces. Our senior residents may have limited mobility, making cleaning difficult. Individuals and groups can "bless" our Affordable Living community by helping them maintain a clean and homey environment. 

We believe that no matter your budget, everyone deserves a beautiful, comforting place to live. For individuals, seniors and families on a fixed, low or no income, Samaritas offers affordable housing in Michigan thanks to our HUD-subsidized communities. Each community features its own unique blend of residences, amenities, programs and healthcare services. Coats of all sizes (adults and children) are needed for families in our Affordable Living Communities as we enter into the COLD SEASON! 

150 new or gently used are needed: 

Coats, hats, gloves, and some boots. Items are needed mainly for smaller children - but items for all ages welcome!

Get a group together - whether through your church, club, or business - for a fun volunteer opportunity to support individuals in Samaritas' Affordable Living Communities! 

Volunteer groups are needed to plan and organize events for seniors and persons with disabilities. Do you have a skill you love to teach and share with others, such as painting or scrapbooking? Do you love throwing parties like holiday parties of birthday parties? Or do you enjoy getting together with groups of people to dance, play games, watch movies, carve pumpkins, or sing songs? Whatever you love to do, you can share that love with the residents at our many Affordable Living Communities around the state! 

Due to budgets and mobility, many residents of Affordable Living don't have opportunities to engage in public community activities. That's why we welcome groups - no matter whether a church group, school group, club, or business - to create opportunities for fun and engagement that anyone, regardless of age or mobility, can enjoy.

West Michigan Affordable Living Communities are located in Allegan, Grand Rapids, Muskegon, Montague, and White Hall.

Volunteers are needed to help transport senior residents of Affordable Living around the community. Volunteer drivers can help residents go to appointments, get groceries, or assist on days off by bringing residents to Art Museums or picnics. (Access to larger vehicles - like busses - for group activities is also a huge help!) 

Volunteers must be able to provide updated driver's license, proof of car insurance, and proof of vehicle registration.

Could you support adults and families in our Affordable Living Communities? Adrian Affordable Living has a need for donated hygiene items for individuals who can't afford these products. For many, this may be the only way they can access these items this month.

Four people are needed to help build a gazebo at Samaritas' Affordable Living Community in Mount Pleasant. 

This is a great group project that helps create an uplifting, welcoming environment for the seniors who call this community their home.
