Samaritas invites the public to celebrate the creativity of unaccompanied minors and young Latino refugees who have made Lansing their new home. A one-day exhibition hosted by Fiesta Charra on October 2, will showcase the diverse talent created by the young refugees in the Samaritas program. Each piece offers a glimpse into their experiences and journeys to Michigan.
This complimentary reception will include a special appearance by Sulma Vasquez, a renowned artist and former Samaritas client. Vasquez will share insights into her art and participate in a live recording of the Samaritas Voices of Hope: Refugee Youth in America podcast.
Art expression is vital in enriching the lives of Samaritas refugee foster youth and unaccompanied minors. The exhibit highlights the creativity, vibrancy, and energy of the young individuals Samaritas serves. Events like this showcase their artistic abilities and raise awareness about their experiences.
