Description

We invite you to view Samaritas’s Youth Art Show: “Traveling Exhibit”

Dates: September 2-27, 2022

Hours: Monday through Friday: 10 am to 5 pm; Saturdays: 10 am to 4 pm

The Youth Art Show features art pieces created by youth in Samaritas’s Refugee Foster Care program. These youth have lost or been separated from their families while fleeing their home countries. They eventually come to the United States where loving families welcome them in as foster parents and Samaritas provides the services they need to pursue the safe and bright future that should be every child’s right.

These art pieces give these youth an avenue to share their hearts, stories, and dreams.

Please join us for a public reception on September 9th 5pm-6:30pm.

This reception is free and open to the public.

While viewing the art pieces, attendees will hear from Samaritas staff and clients, including speaker Edwin Rigoberto Hernandez-Ventura. Edwin came to Samaritas as an unaccompanied child in 2016. Although he has since aged out of the program, he continues to share his experience as an unaccompanied child with the community and advocate for refugees as Michigan’s delegate to the Refugee Congress – a national advocacy organization.
