
Samaritas' Refugee Youth Art Show will be displayed by the MexicantownCDC during the week of Cinco de Mayo!
Samaritas’s Traveling Youth Art Show features pieces created by refugee youth from around the world, now in foster care in Michigan. These youth have been lost or separated from their families while fleeing their home countries, but with the help of local foster homes, volunteers, and Samaritas programs, they are able to pursue the safe and bright future that should be every child’s right.
Art creation provides an outlet for these youth to explore their hearts, losses, hopes, and dreams. It provides an opportunity for them to share their voices with the community – empowering them to express who they truly are through their own words and artistic visions. The exhibit also offers the community a chance to learn about these children and consider how we can be a voice of welcome, stepping into their stories and journeys and creating a place for them to call home.
