What is Giving Tuesday?
Every year, Giving Tuesday is a day where people are encouraged to give (whether time, money, or other resources) to organizations doing good in the community. It always falls on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving (Nov. 29th in 2022), and this year we are asking that you choose the Samaritas New Americans program!
Why New Americans?
Each year, we spend countless hours and resources helping refugees from around the world start a new life in Michigan. When a crisis happens in another part of the world, we are the ones who respond to help those affected. When the Taliban took over Afghanistan, we responded by resettling hundreds of Afghans in our communities to safety. Since Russia invaded Ukraine, we have been welcoming in Ukrainians with open arms. Giving to the New Americans program at Samaritas is a practical way to have a global impact – right here at home.
How can I help?
